MP Gebran Bassil the leader of the Free Patriotic movement has announced this last Sunday in a dinner held in Jbeil one of the Lebanese districts that the party has came to a commune agreement with other parliamentary blocks the nomination of Jihad Azour.

Azour 57 currently holds the position of Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund, formerly Azour was the finance minister in Fouad Sanioura’s government for 2005 till 2008.

The nominations marks the Party’s first nomination for the current vacant seat of president of Lebanon after multiple sessions where the party chose to cast a blank vote.
