Speaker of parliament and Amal mouvement leader Nabih Berri has called for an election session on the 14th of june to elect a new president.
The Announcement comes as new developments unfolded since the last session months ago, mainly the candidacy of Jihad Azour and Sleiman franjieh who will be most likely be the sole runners during this particular session, whoever it is not likely that a new president will be elected on that day since none of the two have 84 votes which is the legal quorum and minimum total of votes needed in the first round as per the Lebanese constitution dictates, 65 votes are needed from the second round onwards for the winner but the quorum total remains the same, although all rounds are rounded back to zero when a session held on any particular day ends.
